Four new Dalek Empire audio plays are
being released during 2001. Although linking into this year's three
Dalek adventures these new plays
will be completely doctorless and promise
to evoke some of the spirit of the fondly remembered Dalek annuals
and strips of the Sixties and Seventies.
Nicholas Briggs will be directing and writing
all four plays so expect them all to be closely linked with many of
the same characters appearing in each story.
The new Dalek Empire plays will be released in June,
July, October and December 2001. Big Finish Productions have also announced
that
these stories will not be part of the existing
subscription for the Doctor
Who audios. Each story will be on a single CD and costs £9.99. It is
understood that it is now possible to pre-order all four titles at the same
time for only £35. For ordering details then visit the Big Finish Productions Web
Site.
Big
Finish Productions have released further details about this four-part
Dalek Empire
mini-series. Each story now has an individual
title and you will also find a short synopsis on each of them within
this site.
Sarah
Mowat, plays Susan Mendes a geologist working for the Reinsberg Corporation
on planet
Vega VI. Sarah previously played the marathon
role of the Sirens of Time in "The Sirens of Time", appearing
as five different incarnations of the same being.
Mark
McDonnell plays Alby Brook, a slightly less
than dynamic space security agent. Mark featured in "The Fearmonger" and
will also be appearing in the next season
of McGann plays in 2002. He is currently working on the second season
of his BBC Radio 4 comedy series, Velvet Cabaret, which promises
to be the next big comedy cult when it migrates to a BBC television
version entitled Velvet Soup in the Summer.
Gareth Thomas guest stars as the enigmatic Kalendorf
who is an agent of the Knights of Velyshaa. Gareth is, of course, best
known as Blake
from "Blake's 7", but it was his performance in McGann's audio
debut "Storm Warning" which
led to his casting in "Dalek
Empire ".
