Dalek
Empire 1
- Invasion of the Daleks
(Nicholas Briggs) |
|
The largest
Dalek fleet ever assembled begins its invasion of the
galaxy, heading straight for the Vega System and the token
Earth defence force patrolling that sector is no match
for the ruthless Dalek onslaught.
On planet Vega VI, Suz
and Alby take their first, delicate steps towards romance,
whiling away a lazy afternoon on the Marsh Lakes. She's
a career girl and he's just a drifter, but they've known
each other for months now, and the attraction between
them is undeniable. But the Dalek onslaught is already
under way.
Who is the mysterious stranger Suz finds amongst
the devastated remains of Vega VI? What is Alby's secret? Can the Daleks'
relentless advance across the galaxy ever be stopped? Along with the
three regular stars (Sarah Mowat, Mark McDonnell and Gareth Thomas) the cast
for this story also includes John Wadmore (who was in "The Sirens of Time") as newsreader Gordon Pellan,
Joyce Gibbs, Ian Brooker, David Sax and, as the Daleks, Nicholas Briggs and
Alistair Lock.

On the Inside
Cover: THE DALEK WARS Undoubtedly,
the two overwhelmingly significant factors which led to the success of that
Dalek encroachment which began with the assault on Veg VI, were the previous
Dalek Strategies involving the library of Kar-Charrat and the 'Apocalypse
Element'. When the Daleks activated their 'Apocalypse Element' in the
centre of the Galaxy 17A53 (known as Seriphia) they obliterated all life in
that galaxy and the element created entirely new matter matrices. Although the
element's effect was halted by the intervention of the Time Lords (specifically, a renegade known as 'The Doctor') an entirely new Serphia galaxy
was created. The unopposed Dalek occupation of this new galaxy was the
beginning of a new era of Dalek power. Entirely unimpeded. Over a period of
several centuries, the Daleks amassed a force of unprecedented size and
power
Despite the apparent failure of the Dalek mission in
Kar-Charrat, surviving Data downloaded from the experimental Dalek created
during this operation proved vital to the Emperor's understanding of 'The Human
Factor'. This knowledge gave the Dalek Command a frightening advantage
over their human opponents
