Dalek
Empire 4
- Project Infinity
(Nicholas Biggs) |
|
This is the
fourth and final story and was due to be released in December
2001 but was finally released in January 2002. It was
written and directed by Nicholas Briggs and not only concludes
previous events covered in the first three instalments
but also sows the seeds for "Dalek
Empire II - Dalek War".
Launching an
attack from their new power base in the Seriphia galaxy,
the Daleks have invaded the Milky Way (see "The
Apocalypse Element"). A key strategy of their conquest
has been to utilise Information they stole from the Kar-Chrarat
library, A repository claiming to hold all the knowledge
of the Universe (see "The
Genocide Machine"). The data they managed to retain
from their ill-fated attack on Kar-Charrat gave them special
knowledge of the 'Human Factor'.
The Daleks realised they could manipulate and
control conquered races with greater efficiency if they offered them hope. To
this end they selected one Human Being, Susan Mendes, to be their 'Angel of
Mercy'. Over the years. During the Dalek advance, Susan and her
friend Kalendorf (A Knight of Velyshaa) were taken on a good will tour of Dalek
subjugated worlds. Against all their instincts, Susan and Kalendorf made the
Dalek Empire efficient and successful. Their only
solace from the shame of this betrayal of humanity was their secret plan to one
day lead the slaves of the empire in a rebellion against the Daleks. On planet
after planet Kalendorf telepathically imparted the message that all slaves were
to wait for the call to arms.

Finally, the
day came when Suz was instructed to broadcast to the entire Galaxy. Announcing
total Dalek victory. Speaking to an audience of countless billions, she uttered
those vital words
'Death to the Daleks!' before being exterminated by the
Daleks. But can Susan really be dead? Alby Brook, who has been
desperate to find his beloved Suz, is reeling from the devastating news he
received at the conclusion of the last instalment. With recent events weighing
heavily on his mind he hopes in vain that she is still alive despite all the
evidence against this being possible. And then he receives a transmission that
can only have come from her.

Kalendorf |
|
With Kalendorf leading the slaves fightback, the
Daleks have at last been forced to begin to retreat. Kalendorf though is
confused that the Daleks apparent fall is happening so fast and that they seem
to be retreating at the first sign of trouble. But Kalendorf is more concerned
about Alby as he seems to know more about the Daleks sudden defeat than he
should. Why are the Daleks seemingly unconcerned by their huge defeats? And how
important is Alby's boss Tanlee to recent events?
In his
continued search for Suz Alby finds himself, along with Kalendorf, learning the
truth from 'The Seers of Yaldos' who have a sad story to tell. Alby and
Kalendorf know that they must listen, as what they will learn will lead them
both to the revelation of the Daleks huge deception that they have all been
involved in and the importance of something called 'Project Infinity'.
|
Alby Brook |
|
It soon becomes
clear to them that the Daleks, with the help of Tanlee, have their sights
firmly fixed on 'Project Infinity' and in the hands of the Daleks, the human
race's only hope of victory could signal the destruction of the entire
universe.
With the final procedures for the completion of Project
Infinity being made by Tanlee it becomes obvious that the Dalek Emperor is
still pursuing his own agenda. But what exactly is Project Infinity and will
anyone survive the Dalek Empire when it is used?
