But how can he defeat a whole army of Daleks, especially when they should have all been destroyed in the Time War? The Doctor soon learns that the leader of the Daleks, The Emperor, survived and so the Time War and the death of all the Time Lords was for nothing.
After The Doctor rescues Rose the Daleks start to attack the space station. Rose has seen danger and wonders alongside The Doctor, but now their friendship is put to the test as Earth plunges into an epic war. The Doctor is in a race against time to create a Delta Wave. But its use will destroy not only all the Daleks but every living creature on Earth. Realising that he will not be able to honour Rose’s mothers request to protect her daughter The Doctor tricks Rose to enter the TARDIS as it dematerialises and takes her home.
But Rose is not happy with being sent home and realises the significance of the "Bad Wolf" messages that she and The Doctor have encountered on their travels together. And so, with the help of her mother and boyfriend Mickey, she manages to gain access to inside the TARDIS mechanism and so to the Time Vortex itself. In doing so she is able to return to the Game Station to rescue The Doctor just as the Daleks are about to exterminate him.
