More Doctor Who material discovered |
It
is understood that since the recovery, from New Zealand, of the
first episode of "The
Crusade
- The Lion" several other important items of Doctor Who material have also
recently been discovered. Dozens of off-monitor photograph (telesnap
photographs) from the two remaining missing episodes of "The Crusade" - "The
Knight of Jaffa" and "The Warlord". Click here for
more information about these postage stamp-sized "telesnaps" which
were taken by specialist freelance photographer named John Cura.
It is hoped that
The Doctor Who Magazine will be publishing these stills as part of a special
supplement in issue 280 which will coincide with the release of the two
surviving episodes on the BBC Video's The Crusade/The Space Museum box set.
Also recently discovered is rare behind-the-scenes footage
from the 1967 Patrick Troughton story "The
Evil of the Daleks". A rough copy of the
material, copied from a VHS cassette, was included on the October 1998 BBC
Video release "The Missing Years", (part of The Ice Warriors box set),
but now the original film print has been located and a copy is now
in the BBC archives.
The
same source also yielded some previously
unpublished photographs from three further stories: "The
Tenth Planet", "The
Web of Fear" and "Fury From The
Deep". |
