Notes

This is a special Doctor Who mini-story, written by the winners of a Blue Peter script-to-screen competition.

It was written by the children of Ashdene School and was broadcast, on CBBC, during an episode of Blue Peter.

For their on-screen credit, the only credit in the episode, the authors were collectively known as 'The Children of Ashdene School'. This form of on-screen credit is unique to this and the other script-to-screen story "Death is the Only Answer" that was written by the children of Oakley Junior School.

When The Doctor's hair stands on end from an explosion, Amy jokes that he looks like Albert Einstein.

Amy wears the same clothes she did in "The Doctor's Wife".

Due to time constraints a shortened vers
ion of the Doctor Who opening titles was used.

A Weeping Angel chases a 2012 Olympic Torch Bearer. Weeping Angels first appeared in the 2007Tenth Doctor story "Blink" and they previously appeared (briefly) in "The God Complex".

The Cloister Bell is heard again. It was last heard in "The God Complex".

The Runner mentions lighting the Olympic Flame. The Tenth Doctor did this himself in the 2006 story "Fear Her".

Although there is no mention of Amy’s husband, Rory Williams, - indicating that this may take place during Season 31 (New Series 5) - Amy knows not to blink at the sight of the Weeping Angels, indicating that this takes place for her after the events of "The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood", as Amy last met the Weeping Angels in "The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone".

The Plot

The Runner Inside the TARDIS
The Runner Inside the TARDIS
The Doctor and his travelling companion Amy Pond are inside the TARDIS, and Amy says that it has been a while since they have been on an adventure. The Doctor activates the TARDIS' ‘Adventure Setting’ and they are off.

However, the TARDIS starts to malfunction and The Doctor gets blasted by steam. His hair becomes messy and the TARDIS continues to malfunction. The Cloister Bell then starts to sound and the TARDIS console fires out sparks. The Doctor says the TARDIS is going to crash as he and Amy hang on for dear life.

Once they get up, an athlete runs through the door holding the Olympic Flame. He asks where he is, then realises he was running from something. They all look at the door and are shocked to see a Weeping Angel inside the TARDIS.

The Doctor and Amy both say, ‘Don't blink’, but then the TARDIS fires sparks out of the console. The Weeping Angel takes the Olympic Torch from the athlete. The Doctor says the Angel wants to destroy the Pride of the Olympics and ruin London 2012. He points his Sonic Screwdriver at the Weeping Angel, which cracks and blows up.

The athlete jumps up and grabs the Olympic Torch so it doesn't hit the floor and go out. He then thanks The Doctor and gives him an Olympic gold medal before leaving the TARDIS to light the Olympic Beacon.

The Doctor turns around and says to Amy that they are now going to go on an adventure but unbeknown to them both the Weeping Angel reappears and looks to the centre of the TARDIS.
