A New Doctor - A New Logo

The New Logo |
|
On the 6th October 2009 the BBC unveiled a new Doctor
Who logo and insignia that will be used to represent the
show from 2010 onwards. Steven Moffat, Doctor Who's
new Lead Writer and Executive Producer has revealed his thoughts
on the new visuals.
‘A new logo! The eleventh logo
for the Eleventh Doctor - those grand old words, Doctor
Who, suddenly looking newer than ever. And
look at that, something really new - an insignia!
DW in TARDIS form!
Simple and beautiful, and most important of all,
a completely irresistible doodle. I apologise to
school notebooks everywhere, because in 2010 that's
what they're going to be wearing'.
The current logo will still be used on the specials that
form the finale of the Tenth
Doctor's era. But when the TARDIS
touches down in the new series in 2010,
with Matt Smith playing the Eleventh
Doctor and Karen Gillan as his companion
Amy Pond, it's all change as we welcome
a new Doctor, new companion and the new
logo! |
