Dapol Doctor Who Toys Ends

It has been announced that after almost 15 years Dapol's licence from the BBC to produce Doctor Who merchandise has not been renewed.

Dapol had plans to extend their range and after their success in raising the awarness of Doctor Who, as providing royalties to BBC, they were hoping that their licence would be extended.

A Dapol spokesman has been reported that the company are 'completely stunned by the BBC's decision'. Being one of the few remaining toy manufacturers in Great Britain this is bound to be hard news for them to take in especially when all work on their planned figures of the First Doctor, Jamie, Polly, Yeti, UNIT Troops, The Cyber Leader
and a new TARDIS Console have all had to be stopped.

As to the reason behind this stunning news nothing has been revealed. What though is worrying is if a successful brand can be halted overnight what does this bode for the other successful projects, like the Big Finish Productions Doctor Who audio range, which are currently keeping Doctor Who live.
