| Another Doctor Who Movie ? |
 During the 1998
Cannes Film Festival press conference it was revealed that a new Doctor Who
movie was being planned. But this story was quickly downplayed by the BBC.
It has now
been revealed that this project is in fact true and that the BBC along with two
other production companies are looking into the feasability of another movie
being created. However, at the moment nothing is confirmed and the BBC are
tight lipped about this project even though it is understood that a screenplay
has already been drafted.
As to who could play The Doctor? A number of actors have
been earmarked including American Denzel Washington who starred in "Cry
Freedom", Linus Richie "Seaforth" and Sean Pertwee who is the son of the late
Jon Pertwee. There has been no mention of Paul McGann.
This news will know
doubt cause a lot of rumours and gossip to start flying. It is therefore
stressed that this news item is only intended to give advance notice that there
could be something in the pipeline. But if the past has anything to go
by.......
It is understood that the BBC have confirmed that they are still
looking into this "New" Doctor Who movie and as soon as anything official is
agreed and released by the BBC I will let you know. Watch this
